Chocolate Berry Cream

I know what you’ve been thinking.  All these delicious *SANE salads and main courses are all well and good, but what you really want – what you really, really want – is desserts.  You want stuff that looks really bad for you, but actually makes you healthier – and if you’re honest – slimmer.

Oh, OK then.  You should have said earlier.  Here you go.

PS. Make sure you use pure, unsweetened cocoa – none of that sweetened stuff or hot chocolate mix.  I use Valrhona.  I buy the best, and I buy it in bulk because raw cocoa powder is one of the *SANEST things on planet earth – and I get through a lot.

  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries, thawed
  • 2 TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup / 8 fl oz. non-fat Greek Yoghurt
  • 2 tsp. xylitol or to taste (Iuse Xyla)
  1. Place thawed berries in a bowl and sieve the cocoa powder over the top.
  2. Stir the cocoa powder into the berries until it is completely mixed in.
  3. Stir in the yoghurt.
  4. Stir in the xylitol..
  5. Stir in additional xylitol to taste as desired.
  6. Dust with sieved cocoa powder.
  7. Garnish with a few berries.


Holy moly, this tastes so good!  Are you sure it’s really *SANE?

Yep.  *SANE as can be.

But, I could like serve this for dessert at a posh dinner party and everyone would think they were eating something naughty.

Yep.  Yep they would.

But really they’d be helping their bodies to turn on their fat-burning hormones?

Yep.  Yep they would.

And they’d be eating something really healthy for their bodies.

Yep.  Yep they would.

And they wouldn’t have any idea, from the taste.

Nope.  They wouldn’t.

Can I eat this for breakfast, too?

You betcha.  I did, this morning.
